Jo Tunnard

Child care expert to the Islington Inquiry Reports 1992-1993

“A social work expert has been sacked from the Islington Council inquiry into allegations by the Evening Standard over child abuse after she produced a report critical of the borough.

Islington insiders say Ms Jo Tunnard was removed because senior council figures did not like the inquiry’s interim report which was damning of the borough. But in dismissing Ms Tunnard, the council has provoked fears that the second stage will not now identify managers who ignored protests that children in care were being exploited by paedophiles, pimps and pornographers.”
